The PEN Education Selective Holiday course will commence as a Two-week program. This holiday, we are aiming to provide an even deeper and more powerful learning experience for the students. Due to the sudden rise in importance of other subjects in the Selective test, we believe it is important to start building the foundations for and begin developing the skills necessary to tackle those subjects early. With writing now playing a much larger role in the Selective Test, each of our days from Monday to Thursday will now begin with a writing test. Following the Writing test will be the remaining standard subjects of Reading Skills, Mathematical Reasoning Skills and Thinking Skills that are also covered in the Selective test. The afternoon component of those days will then be explanations for the writing and exams, with a detailed explanation for all the questions so that the students are able to understand where they have gone right, gone wrong or areas that they could improve. However, we do not expect them to be able to absorb all this information at once, as it is a lot of points to process all in one go. As such, the Fridays for the first and second week will be Selective Clinic focused days where we are able to use statistics we gather through the mock examinations to understand any weaknesses that they may have and then target them accordingly so that they are able to overcome these weak points in their learning.
