NAPLAN reports are out · Year 3 & Year 5

You’ve got the NAPLAN report. Now let’s close the gaps.

It’s a snapshot of your child in March. A whole term has passed since. Bring it in — the Term 3 Diagnostic checks what’s still true, what’s new, and how far your child is from where you want them — at school, or at OC, Selective and scholarship level. Then we work those gaps, term by term, until they’re closed.

$30, one visit. We check the report against where your child is now — then work the gaps week by week, starting this term. Real skills take time; the sooner we start, the more ground we cover.

What the report doesn’t answer

Where is my child actually heading?

Whether you want solid school results, or you’re aiming at OC, Selective or a scholarship, the question is the same: which skills are holding your child back, and how far are they from where they need to be? A national band can’t answer that.

  • We test to your child’s target — school level, or OC, Selective and scholarship level.
  • Bring the report if you have it — it gets mapped alongside.
  • PEN students get the full skill map re-run every term.

Why check again, when you just got a report?

Fair question. Here’s why the report on your kitchen bench can’t be the last word.

It’s already four months old

Your child sat NAPLAN in March. A full term of school has happened since — some of those gaps have closed on their own, and new ones have opened. Nobody has checked which.

Missed isn’t always misunderstood

NAPLAN groups “incorrect” and “did not attempt” together. A rushed or skipped question can look identical to a real gap.

It measures the wrong bar

NAPLAN measures against the national average. That may not be the bar you care about — keeping up in class, or getting into OC, Selective or a scholarship, are all different bars entirely.

Nobody is assigned to fix it

The report arrives. The term rolls on. Nothing on that list fixes itself — someone has to sit down and work it, week after week.

One visit. A straight answer.

What the report actually means

Which lines on it matter, which ones don’t, and what they say about your child — in words you can use.

The order to tackle it in

No jargon. Which gap is costing the most marks right now, and which ones can wait — so the work starts in the right place.

A written record to keep

How your child thought their way through it, and how the marks were lost — so you can measure the next one against it.

Two reports. One picture.

What happened in your child’s head, and what happened on the paper.

Inside the exam

How your child thinks.

Where the time went. Where the thinking stopped. A mark can’t show you either.

On the paper

Every question, laid out.

Not just which ones were wrong — how. Same mark, different causes, different fixes.

Bring the NAPLAN report and it gets mapped alongside both.

From a March snapshot to a plan that keeps going.

Some gaps shift in a few weeks. Others take a term or two of steady work. We’ll tell you which is which — and start on them now.

The Term 3 Diagnostic

We check every skill on the report against today, find the ones it never tested, and watch how your child thinks through each question — measured against your target, not the national average.

This term, and the next

Those skills, worked week by week

Every gap becomes the weekly plan. We re-test at the end of each term, so you see what moved and what still needs work — no guessing, no waiting a year for the next report.

Why families bring the report here

An easy visit, not another errand.

Inside Top Ryde City

No roads to cross, undercover parking, one escalator up to class.

3 hours parking included

Matches the length of the session — no clock-watching.

We text you on arrival

You’ll know the moment your child checks in.

We map it

Every result in the report, matched to a plan — no guesswork.

Trusted by families.

Thanks to PEN Education, my child got selected into a Selective School. Their support in English, Maths and Writing was outstanding.
